Constructed in the 50’s-60’s, Midway Hollow remains one of the more central locations in Dallas. Considerably less expensive then its neighbor to the east Preston Hollow, it’s reasonably priced for Dallas standards. With prices being higher in virtually all of the surrounding areas inside of 635 Freeway, Midway Hollow offers an attractive alternative to residents desiring location without the hefty price tag.
While ranch style construction from the 50’s and 60’s is incredibly prevalent, don’t let that fool you from how many unique mid century moderns were built here.
The Disney Streets is one of Dallas most unique neighborhoods due to its vast assortment of Mid Century Modern inventory. Each of the streets within the Disney Streets derives its name from different Disney films such as Snow White, Wonderland, Cinderella, Aladdin, Princess, etc. There remains plenty of neat Mid Century Modern product outside of the disney streets in Midway Hollow as well. Pricing starts in the $400-500 range for mid century modern inventory and can exceed $1,000,000.
There is a lot of builder development inside Midway Hollow as well. Lot by lot, builders are gradually eradicating the original ranch style homes with 3,000-4,500 modern mini mansions. Lot sizes are generous with an average of 1⁄4 to a 1⁄3 of an acre. Newer Construction Mods tend to start in the $750’s and can go upwards of $2 Million.
Withers Elementary is a highly rated elementary school within the Dallas Independent School District and draws many residents hoping to save money on private schools during the Elementary phase.
And the vast selection of private schools in close proximity makes this area a very attractive location for residents interested in having their children in private schools. Private schools nearby include Lamplighter, St Marks, Episcopal School of Dallas, Ursuline, & Hockaday among others.
This location is phenomenal for highway access since its surrounded by 635, I-35, and Dallas North Toll Road.
One of the biggest perks to living in Midway Hollow is the convenience in commuting to Dallas Love Field Airport. And it’s within a 15 minute drive to Uptown, Downtown, and Oaklawn.
